Same problem here with 10.04 LTS. Come on, a *second* delay on a GHz machine is appalling! And the inability to get that down to an acceptable delay for acceptable human reception, in particular when it apparently worked fine with the alsa module, is just pathetic. Why is nothing being done? There are complaints about this going back over a year to 9.10!
