I think that's a bit premature. Even if the problem is specific to NVidia cards, that doesn't mean the problem isn't with network-manage- applet! All other software on my system has no problem painting itself correctly, including all the other panel icons.
And I don't think the NVidia driver is the problem. I think I've narrowed it down to Xinerama. The following configurations had the network icon painting correctly: * Not using the NVidia driver. * Using the NVidia driver, but with only one GPU (and one monitor). * Using the NVidia driver with both GPU's and all three monitors, but without Xinerama enabled. It's only when I use the NVidia driver with both GPU's and all three monitors, and enable Xinerama, that the problem occurs. I have to use that setup, because it is the only one that allows me to have one desktop over all three monitors. Maybe somebody can see whether they can reproduce this on a multi- monitor Xinerama setup? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/729424 Title: Panel icon has a white background in Ubuntu Maverick default theme -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
