I have discussed this with Nvidia, and the answer is "not until something is actually plugged in". To have PulseAudio react on something being plugged in is a bit of work and won't be ready in 11.04, but I hope to be able to have it working better in 11.10. (To further complicate the issue, many Nvidia DVI and/or Displayport outputs can actually output audio, which means there can be more than one digital output that actually works.) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/716371 Title: Nvidia HDMI - four codecs, which one is the right one? -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
