The bug I reported was only occurring while running the Feisty beta live CD from March 30, 2007. I have since installed from that beta to a spare hard drive and the restricted drivers manager worked as expected and I was able to install the nvidia driver without problems. The hardware detection, however continues to say only "generic video card". The same behavior existed in Edgy, which also reports only a generic video card. What can I send you to help with the hardware detection of the video card so it doesn't report generic?
