Don't worry about your postings - they are welcome. Both options behave a bit strange: With: "options snd-hda-intel model=olpc-xo-1_5,dell-vostro I got jack sensitive stereo sound on headphone. After unplug I had sound on speaker again. After a 2nd plugin/plugout I have no speaker sound anymore - until reboot. After reboot the sound jack sensing doesn't work anymore.
But if I remember right, I had the same issue with your first option, that it is not working anymore. The other problem is to mix the right channel to the only available one speaker.
