I have followed all the steps at

and found that CUPS does see the device.
I will not try this on Natty. 10.04 is the LTS version of Ubutu, and
the goal here is a stable system. Natty is too much in flux. We will
move to Windows on this machine long before making a move to a less
stable Ubuntu. I don't have regular access to the machine, I was called
in to help fix it.
