Hello, We want to report that having a music CD in the tray with music playing stops the frequent freeze. One of our customers says:

We are waiting for the next version of HAL to get released into Ubuntu, as that will enable one to turn off the check tray if empty routine. We will attempt the firmware upgrade suggested above and post back later.
