The ram usage also increases after resume from standby. I suspended with compiz using 178MB and xorg using 95MB. I resumed (I reported this bug, perhaps they are related? https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity/+bug/869959) and Compiz was using 189MB, with Xorg using 138MB.
