Hi Kamal, Thanks for your work on the backlight issue.
It was working fine for me with your PPA, until I upgraded to 11.10 (Oneiric). Now it's back to the broken behavior - stuck at maximum, responds to the hotkeys (but only moves up or down a notch then jumps back). I've tried various combinations of: acpi_backlight=vendor and dell_laptop.backlight=0 in 'grub' to no avail, including not putting them in there (rebooting after each attempt of course).
