I created a script like: fixbacklight.sh which had the command to set backlight
to a certain amount using xbacklight.
Then I created a custom keyboard shortcut which ran this script. I am sure if
you dig a little bit you can find some file which gets run each time you login.

I just login and press the key combination I have assigned to the script
to fix the backlight.
