I'm also encountering this problem. I'm not sure what else I can say; the extension is enabled, and I am putting files into the main music library directory. Banshee just never seems to check for new files, even after restarting.
How does "library watching" work, anyway? Is it meant to be realtime, or does it check the directory for changes every X minutes?
