Just to post the fix in here: 1) sudo %favoriteEditor% /usr/share/screen-resolution-extra/nvidia-polkit.py 2) change import gtk, gobject, sys, dbus, logging, os, re to: import sys, dbus, logging, os, re gtk is not needed to edit xorg.conf, lol 3) nvidia-settings prints: pkg-config not found apt-get install pkg-config
