OK. I have installed the cups-1.5.0-8ubuntu7-ppa2 (current from your ppa), but am in doubt as to what sort of connection to use... Should it be straight USB or can i use the dnssd definition...
Using a USB connection, selecting the printer driver Canon PIXMA MG8100 - CUPS+Gutenprint v5.2.7 Simplified, I sent a test page to the printer, and it opens the print output tray, makes a lot of "print head movement" noises (is it performing a print head clean?), whereupon it falls silent - no print. Printing from a mail yielded only a breif glimpse in the display of any activity. The jobs are consumed from the print queue. I'll attach the cups error log. ** Attachment added: "error_log" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cups/+bug/890499/+attachment/2677643/+files/error_log -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/890499 Title: Printer won't print after installing Ubuntu 11.10 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cups/+bug/890499/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
