Public bug reported:

ubuntu still logs out without any prediction. all running programs are
being immediately closed, unsaved changes are discarded without query.
Problem can't be reproduced as it occurs randomly.

I hope the automatically collected logs contain all required information
about the affected session yesterday. The last syslog entry before re-
login (see attachment):
