wayland-demos fails because it was renamed to weston and weston has not been packaged for precise yet. It's already in debian-experimental but the ubuntu changes from wayland-demos hasn't been merged into it http://anonscm.debian.org/gitweb/?p=pkg- xorg/wayland/weston.git;a=summary. libxkbcommon is not out of date, it just has a hard dependency on the version in the archive last time it was built (saw it mentioned in your debian bug report)
