I'm unable to test the upstream kernel. The reason is that once I forced
the machine to shut down, a new kernel kicked in, and the old one was
gone. In any case it would have been impossible for me to go back and
have the machine in the old configuration but with a new kernel. I'm
sorry I cannot help more, and I appreciate that you contacted me.
