Kyle's patch has been applied to the Ubuntu Precise and Ubuntu Quantal
source trees, and will appear in forthcoming release versions of each of
those kernels. Announcements of those specific kernel versions will be
posted here when they get released.
In the meantime, I have updated the Sputnik Project kernel PPA to include the
patch. The Sputnik kernels are building now and will become available shortly;
versions labelled kamal8 or higher will include the patch:
