I just installed 3.6rc7, and rebooted. Once reboot, I closed my laptop lid (configured to not suspend, just blank) Upon opening the laptop lid, screen had background and mouse pointer, but screensaver dialog didn't come up Switched to vt1, killed gnome-screensaver, vt7 still had background and mouse pointer and a half-inch black square in the center of the screen I ran dstack, and attached is the compiz stack trace.
