Would you mind trying to use acpi_listen[1] to see if it detects the lid
open event as well as the lid closed? Thanks, and sorry again for the

  When I unplug the AC power from my laptop, the screen dims, and then 2-4 
seconds thereafter, a lid-close event is registered and my screen either goes 
blank or the laptop suspends, depending on my power settings for closing the 
laptop lid.
