You seem to mix PHP 5 (as in the interpreter) and php5 meta-package. It would be nice to at least read the description of the packages you are reporting bugs to:
--cut here-- Description: server-side, HTML-embedded scripting language (metapackage) This package is a metapackage that, when installed, guarantees that you have at least one of the four server-side versions of the PHP5 interpreter installed. Removing this package won't remove PHP5 from your system, however it may remove other packages that depend on this one. --cut here-- There is no bug here, if you want to use php5 without web server feel free to remove php5 meta-package and install php5-cli package. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1076489 Title: Cannot be uninstalled without installing Apache2 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/php5/+bug/1076489/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
