Hello, Carsten's workaround (acpi_backlight=vendor in grub.conf) works fine in my laptop only if I use kubuntu-desktop with KDM. With lightdm and kubuntu-desktop not works, and with gdm or lightdm with unity not works too.
I have A03 bios version and I use default video drivers (not nvidia proprietary drivers).
