I am running GnuCash 2.4.12 on Ubuntu 13.04 (64-bit) and have the same
problem, even with all latest package updates. (And the same problem
with GnuCash 2.4.11 on Ubuntu 12.10 (64-bit).
After removing the indicator-appmenu package, the GnuCash menus are
looking correct; after reinstalling the problem appears again.
When creating a new user, with indicator-appmenu package installed, the
menus look correct for the new user, and for my old user ID they display
the wrong text ('Convert', or 'Umwandeln' in German) for all Import and
Export menu entries.
So I guess, the problem arises somewhat later in using GnuCash. So far,
I have no idea, when...
