I am not sure why this is hard to understand? this video is very clear:

and, any menu on any system must disappear and fade away the moment you
finish your work on that menu. I fail to find a good reason why a Menu
should be stuck on the desktop and refuse to disappear? this is a huge
pain in the next and unwanted behaviour IMHO :)
