Dear Simon, in the ‘Df.txt’ file that you submitted, I note that your root filesystem is almost entirely full (97 %), could that be the problem ? I also note some strange errors in the ‘Dmseg.txt’ file. Do you experience other problems with your computer, that are not related to mime-support ?
