Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. This is not a bug. This is the way that bash work when
you have a stopped job in this case the "less /var/log/auth.log"; if you
type "jobs" you'll see the stopped job and you can exit it, bash just
warn you that there's a stopped job and if you type exit for second time
it logout. You can find more info in the bash man pages.
