The Aviv, just to clarify, following the instructions in
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/MainlineBuilds one would install three
files for a given kernel version. Are you doing this, or only installing
one as your comment would be suggesting?
Also, could you please test v3.17.2-vivid/ and advise to the
results? If this doesn't give you a testable environment, please feel
free to test the next most recent version until you have one.
