Thanks for taking your time to report this issue and help making Ubuntu
better.
I get the same error message when attempting to install Listaller
through Synaptic. Presumably this is due to unmet dependencies which is
also reported when attempting to install it with apt-get:
$ sudo apt-get install listaller
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
listaller : Depends: packagekit (>= 0.8.4) but it is not going to be installed
E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages.
As a workaround, it is possible to install packagekit and afterwards install
listaller. Don't know why this works as separate steps, but it worked for me on
Ubuntu 14.04 (i386)
** Changed in: listaller (Ubuntu)
Status: New => Confirmed
** Tags added: i386 unmetdeps
