Yes it has been tested on 3.18 and it's still not working but I'm not surprised as the realtek support has not been pushed in mainline kernel and I doubt that Ubuntu kernel devs would patch that sort of thing.
What would be the right procedure then ? Push the fix to upstream ? We have everything ready on the github mentionned above. For now I've created an alpha state DKMS from this github : https://github.com/EkimiaSAS/rtl8723au_bt/tree/dkms Which results in a dkms deb but which does not include the firmware. http://support.ekimia.fr/drivers/Bluetooth/rtl8x/ Also this DKMS overwrite the current btusb which quite dangerous .... Does the ubuntu project distribute dkms drivers even when they are opensource ? For now it's the right thing to do it seems. ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => Confirmed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1382404 Title: 10ec:b723 Realtek Bluetooth on 8723BE not working To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1382404/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
