This bug shouldn't occur anymore with the latest upload (Lirc
0.8.2-0ubuntu6). It was caused by the word remote being used in the
remote that was selected. The latest version doesn't do this. If you
are encountering this (from 0.8.2-0ubuntu3-0.8.2-0ubuntu5), you may need
to manually modify REMOTE="" in /etc/lirc/hardware.conf
