Just upgraded to new version that came out either yesterday or today; problem seems to be fixed. Other problems exist, however, such as the workspace switcher being unresponsive to changes in number of workspaces.
RIght now I have four workspaces in one row in the switcher, but physically there are 2 rows, 2 columns (CTRL-ALT-arrow shifts once horizontally and once vertically).
