Same problem running Ubuntu 16.04 on legacy machine, with nouveau-drivers for NVidia graphic chipset on HP laptop. LibreOffice Writer freezes (running version 5.1):
"The only possible action is moving the mouse pointer on the screen. Impossible to connect to a tty session to kill Xorg." I did manage to reboot using FN + ALT + SYSRQ + REISUB rather than a hard reboot being necessary using the power button. LibreOffice Writer tried to recover my document, but some data was lost, after reboot and restart of the app. Kernel: 4.4.0-47-generic Ubuntu: 16.04 64-bit Nvidia: GeForce 6150 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1453812 Title: System freeze when using LibreOffice Writer To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1453812/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
