Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: octave2.9-forge

Hi,

I had upgraded from feisty to gutsy today and had noticed that some
commands do not work in octave2.9. For example, I tried to call the help
of imread function in octave2.9-forge and got the following answer:

help imread

help: `imread' not found
Additional help for built-in functions and operators is
available in the on-line version of the manual. Use the command
`doc <topic>' to search the manual index.

Help and information about Octave is also available on the WWW
at http://www.octave.org and via the [EMAIL PROTECTED]

I believe that octave is not able to find the functions in
octave2.9-forge. I tried to reinstall the octave2.9 package as well as
the octave2.9-forge but it did not solve the problem.

Furthermore, I would like to point out that the package octave2.9-forge
is not up to date in the repositories. Namely, there exists a more
recent version for example at the Debian respositories. Namely,
octave2.9-forge (2006.07.09+dfsg1-8).

Sincerely,
Marcos Eduardo Valle
