It looks like your last boot failed somehow.
Try to add this to /etc/default/grub to get 10 seconds recordfail timeout:
GRUB_RECORDFAIL_TIMEOUT=10
Perhaps your hard disk was not unmounted clean.
Could you check your hard disk with fsck from live usb or recovery mode?
