If you know how to log in remotely via SSH then please: 0. Install package 'openssh-server'.
1. Reboot. 2. Log in via ssh from another machine. 3. Write down the PID of the gnome-shell process (that's the login screen GUI). 4. Leave the machine so it times out and the screen blanks. Make sure you can't wake it. 5. Run from ssh: apport-cli --hanging -P `pidof gnome-shell` That should create a new bug report. Tell us the bug ID. 6. If step 5 failed then please check if there is still a gnome-shell process at all. If so then go to step 7. If not, then stop here. 7. Run from ssh: sudo killall -ABRT gnome-shell 8.
