Public bug reported:
After upgrading from Ubuntu 19.04 to Ubuntu 19.10, audio in chromium
browser stopped working, presumably this is related to chromium now
being a snap package:
Description: Ubuntu 19.10
Release: 19.10
Package: chromium-browser
Architecture: amd64
Version: 77.0.3865.120-0ubuntu1~snap1
Note that I don't use pulseaudio or any other audio server on my system,
it's supposed to use ALSA directly. In .xsession-errors I see:
ALSA lib conf.c:3916:(snd_config_update_r) Cannot access file
/usr/share/alsa/alsa.conf
ALSA lib pcm.c:2495:(snd_pcm_open_noupdate) Unknown PCM default
[2536:2536:1031/194827.989956:ERROR:alsa_util.cc(204)] PcmOpen: default,No such
file or directory
ALSA lib conf.c:3916:(snd_config_update_r) Cannot access file
/usr/share/alsa/alsa.conf
ALSA lib pcm.c:2495:(snd_pcm_open_noupdate) Unknown PCM plug:default
[2536:2536:1031/194827.990132:ERROR:alsa_util.cc(204)] PcmOpen: plug:default,No
