Yes it is still an issue and it happens with the Vanilla 2.6.24-rc2 kernel too. The problem seems to be that snd_emu10k1 can't be unloaded. Suspend doesn't work on demand but if I shut down system it goes to standby instead because the part that prevents it is shutdown or something like that. I am going to upload the the needed information soon.
