Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gfxboot
Here I go AGAIN :-) This applies to previous comments I logged with regard to 7.10 https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gfxboot/+bug/140713 This is patchable so PLEASE PLEASE let's get this upstream. It missed out (just!) being on 7.10. KVM is one superb VM, and it is frustrating to have to modify the original ISO just to have a working KVM guest ISO. The easiest method I've got is the following: (This should I believe also apply to any other guest distros that have the same issue) 1) Install ISO Master http://littlesvr.ca/isomaster/index.php 2) Open your Ubuntu ISO image in ISO Master 3) EDIT the file in /isolinux/isolinux.cfg 4) REMOVE the two lines refering to gfxboot Example in 8.04 Alpha 1 ------------------------------- GFXBOOT bootlogo GFXBOOT-BACKGROUND 0xB6875A 5) SAVE your modified ISO image under a new name 6) Boot your new ISO in your kvm host. 7) Enjoy Now, ladies, gentlemen and devils .... Hello, this to me is high priority when it comes to Ubuntu Server... ** Affects: gfxboot (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- gfxboot NOT PATCHED to support KVM guest boot in Ubuntu 8.04 Alpha 1 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/173495 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
