Additionally, although the RDP screen is completely black, I am able to move my cursor around the display (cannot see the cursor exactly, though) and using an SSH terminal watching nvidia-smi, I can see the GPU utilization go up when I dart the cursor about the screen. So I believe that input from my RDP client is making it into the VM, but somehow the compositor is not running (so I cannot see anything on the RDP monitor, just a blank black screen.)
