Public bug reported: When I was looking around in my router configuration I noticed that my Ubuntu Hardy (beta) system was showing up with the hostname of "*" instead of the hostname that usually would appear (that being "ubuntu").
I confirmed by running in the terminal "hostname" which returned "ubuntu". Previous versions of Ubuntu did not have this issue. My "/etc/hosts" file is as follows: 127.0.0.1 localhost 127.0.1.1 ubuntu # The following lines are desirable for IPv6 capable hosts ::1 ip6-localhost ip6-loopback fe00::0 ip6-localnet ff00::0 ip6-mcastprefix ff02::1 ip6-allnodes ff02::2 ip6-allrouters ff02::3 ip6-allhosts ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- hostname is incorrect on LAN https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/206384 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
