Are you able to reproduce this on Ubuntu 8.04?
Unfortunately, the stack trace alone is not enough to diagnose this bug.
Please post /var/log/syslog, /var/log/installer/syslog (if present), and
/var/log/partman from an install attempt after it crashes and following
the instructions at
http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingUbiquity/AttachingLogs .
