I just got my HP dv6000 laptop back from the factory after having my Broadcom chipset replaced.
HP informed me that they replaced the brodcom chipset with a newer version. Well...guess what.....the restricted drivers for Ubuntu 8.04, kernel 2.6.24-19-generic broke the newer chipset as well. What really hacks me off is that Ubuntu is still undecided on this issue. UNDECIDED? Does anyone know what's going on here? Hardy is too damn expensive to install anymore. It BREAKS computers!!!!!! -- Ubuntu LTS 8.04 kernel 2.6.24.16 PERMANTLY breaks BCM4312 on HP dv6000 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/225959 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
