Hallo list. I am new here and this is my first message. So I hope, You
can help me.

I have created a customized gnome-panel layout for our desktop (only one
bottom_panel ...). Detailed Information can be found in the attachment.
This is an package with the needed files to install.

Would be nice if you could provide a screenshot. My mom always told me:
Do not install software from strangers :)

Sorry, i forgot. See the shots in the attachment (jpk ist the copmany i
am working for):

- "ubuntu-desktop-with-ubuntu-panels" is the default ubuntu desktop with
no customizations and logged in as normal user

- "jpk-desktop-with-ubuntu-panels" is the result after installing the
own panel package (see message before) and logging in as the same user
as in shot "ubuntu-desktop-with-ubuntu-panels". Here you can see that
the panel layout hasn't changed but it was installed and loaded
successfully (gconftool-2 --load ...).

- "jpk-desktop-with-jpk-panels" is the jpk desktop with the jpk panel
layout. Here you can see that the panel layout has changed. To get this
i have to shut down GDM (and Gnome) and run the command:

# sudo gconftool-2 --direct \
--config-source=xml:readwrite:/home/$USER/.gconf \
--recursive-unset /apps/panel

and start GDM and Gnome again. After login i get a new desktop. Fine. :)

As i said this will be a problem when the user made changes and we
provide a panel package update to install.
