In Synaptic, after clicking on the "Status" bouton (bottom-left of the window), you can now select "Installed" in the left panel. Select your package and then click on "Properties" -> "Installed Files". The binaries (i.e. executable programs) are usually in /usr/bin or another "something/bin" directory. You might need to restart a fresh Synaptic before doing all of this.
