Ola Paulo,
Here is Ian from MetaReciclagem.

Yes, I remember this...it was a good debate we had.
I think it best given the Ecology theme to Mobilfest that we try to get some
Brazilians speaking
there!! Adilson is one of the main devs and he is part of the Ubuntu-br
community as well, so he
would be the best I think.

I am helping out the project writing some user documentation.
As an example I have written a UME plug-in which interacts with GeoClue.
GeoClue a geographic
information framework for linux. It is a Free Software service/library that
usually runs on a
mobile computer. It uses several backends to get geographic data from various
sources and
abstracts the differences of those data sources as much as possible, so
applications can just ask
for e.g. current coordinates and not care where the coordinates come from
(current options for
coordinates are GPS and hostip.info).
Such location based services have a number of applications ranging from IM
e.g."Bob is in
Singapore, and it's 4am there, so you should not call him right now", finding
WiFi networks based
on position ("I'm in Manaus in Amazonas, where are the nearest free
WiFis?"),blogging geo-tags
which pull a feed for "stuff near me" or even interacting with disaster
management systems such as
Sahana.
I will be in Brazil during the event and (depending on work commitments) would
like to present the
UME Guide and maybe a few of these types of plug-ins too, if you think people
would like this. It
would be an additional encouragement to get the guide translated into
Portuguese also ;)
