Moblin_Chat
Chat spec worked on by Peter Zhu. He received feedback from Tollef for
improving the specification which he acted on. The spec now has many
use cases and is marked as Review. I added some screenshot links this
morning.
Chat application is functional althought he first few screens regarding
account setup are a little confusing.
We successfully used the MSN protocol with the Telepathy backend,
although this is not included by default.
Now that telepathy-haze is available it will be possible to have
seemless use of this too, although the pidgin protocols have US-legal
issues.
Moblin_Media
Media spec has been improved by Cathy and I. It still needs use cases.
Media player now supports thumbnails for pictures and a slideshow
feature.
UI (and related)
Home Screen: We have begun work on a new home screen to replace the
flash version which is based on OpenedHand's Clutter toolkit. Some
screen shots coming soon.
Hildon: We have started trying to get our patches upstream. A
couple have been accepted, such as the window navigation fix. We tried
to suggest a configuration option for building UME vs Maemo so we could
easily get our UI lahyout instead of the default Maemo UI layout. Nokia
(Lucas) suggested instead that the upstream project should not have UI
layout specified and he will work to remove these pieces from upstream.
We will then need to have these UME-specific configuration settings
added in UME Hildon. (email attached)
Theme: Nokia recently released documentation for Hildon theme
creation and Ken Wimer had some luck creating a new theme (bspencer
hopes Ken will elaborate in today's meeting)
