UI Theme: Peter Zhu created a list of all theme components needed. We've made sure that we have xsettings-mgr. We've walked through the process of understanding how all the themes work togethre and fall-back on other themes and other icon sets. We decided we didn't need hildon-theme-cacher. I haven't visited with Ken this week to see if he needs anything else for his theme creation. Clutter Home Screen: OpenedHand has continued improving Clutter-based UI. We will host on moblin very soon and include as an option for others to try. UI supports two views: All-on-one-screen, and category view. Application startup animation has been added. We need to build Xephyr with 3D glx support for desktop debugging or you won't see anything. I started the process of requesting the newer version of libclutter-0.4.2 (instead of the current libclutter-0.2.0) into gutsy. I need to get the pbuilder output and then hopefully it isn't too late. HTML Home Screen: Still progressing, but not ready yet. Working very hard to get this completed by the end of Sept for gutsy. There is also the possibility that we can implement the grid view using clutter. Rusty is taking a look into that in parallel with the HTML work. Apps Chat: moblin-chat was added to moblin this week, I believe. I haven't spent any time on this and the UI is still unacceptable to me. I think with some simple reworking it can be greatly improved. Media Viewer: Team has made strides in the underlying functionality but the UI remains unchanged until we can get new UI comps from our designer, who is working full-time on creating a much-improved look to the current Media Viewer. FYI: China has a week-long holiday the first week of October, so media viewer and chat will not improve greatly during that time. What we have now is probably what we will have for the gutsy release.
