I tried sudo <myhosts_name> -fqdn > /etc/mail (I substituted my hosts
name in the angle-brackets) and got (after entering my password)
[/etc/mail is my mail_directory]:

sudo <myhosts_name>: command not found

I even tried: hostname -fqdn > /etc/mailname and got:
bash: /etc/mailname: Permission denied

Trying sudo hostname -fqdn > /etc/mail got me:
bash: /etc/mail: Is a directory

What or where am I doing wrong?

I am using Ultimate Edition 3.0 Gamer as a virtual machine on VMware
Workstation v7.1.5 build-491717 on Windows 7 64-bit (host OS).
