Upgraded one our lightly used test server from Lucid to Precise and it seems that I can't get it to restart without pulling the power.
via a remote ssh shell, I instructed it to restart ( shutdown now -r) and syslog shows... Apr 30 14:15:29 nxpc kernel: imklog 5.8.6, log source = /proc/kmsg started. Obviously the last entry is the restart after I pulled the plug and restarted. Screen was blank before I pulled the plug. Seemed that most processed were stopped. Couldn't ping.
