Upgraded one our lightly used test server from Lucid to Precise and it seems
that I can't get it to restart without pulling the power.

via a remote ssh shell, I instructed it to restart ( shutdown now -r) and
syslog shows...

Obviously the last entry is the restart after I pulled the plug and restarted.

Screen was blank before I pulled the plug. Seemed that most processed were
stopped. Couldn't ping.

What can I do to troubleshoot the reboot problem?
