If there is to be an interview, it really must be with Bradley Kuhn of Software Freedom Conservancy. So far, he's not responded to my inquiries. I will try harder. As to the one-minutes, here's the deal. Those are your chance to practice public speaking in front of a probably fairly friendly audience. The notion of one-minutes comes from the idea of being stuck in an elevator with say your local mayor or perhaps Mark Shuttleworth himself. You've got their attention for 60 seconds and can say almost anything. If you want to pitch your pet project, like moving municipal administrative computing to Linux, you've got that time. It is a use it or lose it scenario. Sixty seconds isn't a lot of time. There are some episodes of The Burning Circle that are barely that long yet we pack as much as we can in. What could you do? The goal is to get about 5-10 of these lined up though that's not a hard-and-fast upper limit by any means. The producer's job right now is mainly to help you narrow your focus and help you come up with something you can go with. It is at arm's length from me that a speaking order would be put together for the live show. I won't be picking...I'll just be introducing you. Doing this would also help advance some of the goals discussed in our LoCo's reapproval app that is archived here: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/OhioTeam/ReApproval If it helps, I'm sure I could find an appropriate buzzer or other noisemaker to use alongside a stopwatch. :-) If I can dig something up, we could well have a prize or two if that makes it more interesting.
