I'm seeing this since I changed from AMD HD 4850 with open drivers to AMD HD 7770 with fglrx.
Syslog says: Feb 13 22:46:44 HOSTNAME gnome-session[1705]: Gdk-WARNING: gnome-session: Fatal IO error 11 (Resource temporarily unavailable) on X server :0.#012 I'm running 12.10, and the non -updates version of fglrx.
